There are quite a few extended warranty companies out there but chances are the dealer that you are purchasing from will only deal with one or two of them. Extended warranties are an excellent idea to consider, especially when purchasing a used vehicle.
There is no concrete advice we can give you regarding the purchase of an extended warranty other than to research exactly what is covered on your vehicle and what is not. Some companies do not cover items such as seals and gaskets while others do.
An extended warranty is "risk related coverage" (like insurance), so it could either turn out to be a great money-saving and wise purchase if you ever have to use it. On the other hand, if you purchase one and never have to use it, you may consider it to have been a waste of money.
Remember, when the FM (Finance Manager) pitches his/her warranty item to you, that your cost has been marked up from the dealer's cost.
